I appriciate the article on "India: Strong Externally, Weak Internally"
Let me given an example - I have filed a complaint with Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and they registered the complaint under Ref: 611/05/10. Initially their Web site updated stating "Administrative Action has been taken" when there was no such action- I reported, then CVC web site stated "Commission Ordered closure of the case" when wrote back now CVC web site shows error message. Quite strage.

When we have duty to report, CVC will not given a courtesy reply.

The case is so serious involving hundred crores of Rupees and many Officials involved in the case have resigned from service when CVC investigating the case (why?) some of them even bold enough to secure employment from the Contractor itself. Such type of case has been ordered to be closed by Commission.

Any one interested can get the details of the case under Right to informatiuon Act (RTI Act) quoting CVC case No.611/05/10 and one can get to know the gravity of the case.

Any way I lost faith in Administration, even If I have to wittneess a day light robbery or cold blooded murther, perhaps, I will be the last person to report the matter.

sincerely,
P.SWAMINATHAN

We really like your topic because the economic aspects of India tie into our own ideas between China and the United States. It is also different to learn about non-Western nations. We thought your ideas about religion affecting the morality in India were unique and explored different cultures within a society. However, we also noticed the absence of the promenant Caste system in India. Many laws, including moral codes, are based off this caste system which has been in place for thousands of years. We feel that in order to completely understand Indian morality, one must include the morality of the caste system.

Great post!! We definitely agree! Because there are so many different cultures and morals and those cultures, it is hard to come up with a system that the entire world can agree on and work with. As you said, it is extremely important that leaders respect other cultures when making decisions and that they try to understand another country's response to a particular situation.

This is a pretty interesting post, especially the end where you discuss India's discrepancies with receiving aid. I'd like to know the motivations behind the state's decision to refuse certain types of aid in exchange for others. Certainly, aid for economic and industrial development can translate to benefits for the citizens of the country, but perhaps not for those in the most need of them. It seems contradictory that the state could refuse foreign aid for tsunami relief on the notion that it could affect its political image, because receiving aid for economic development would seemingly have the same effect. Anyways, great post!

Excellent post! This is really well done. Note that China and India have been rivals (with the concomitant border disputes) from the time of India's independence. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, at many points neither side is certain where the border between the two countries lies.

See my video on Blackboard to show you how to post a hyper link.

Otherwise, great job!

Excellent post! I concur that we encounter, and affect, international relations in our DAILY routines. We don't have to be politicians or business leaders to have an impact on those living thousands of miles away. Well done, and I've bookmarked the 365 things link...

Excellent post! By some accounts 2/3 of the world's economic growth over the last decade or so can be attributed to the ever-indefatigable (?) US consumer.
